Michael Galib is a pianist, composer, and conductor with 20 years of teaching experience.
He was formerly Artistic Director of the Sine Nomine Choral Ensemble, primarily performing early choral music, and served for fifteen years as Music Director at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of South County. He performed as a pianist with the Rhode Island All-State Choruses for a decade, and for seven seasons was the principal pianist with the Rhode Island Children's Chorus and assistant conductor of the Providence Singers.
Having graduated with honors in composition from New England Conservatory, his piece Different Ways to Pray for chorus, organ, and percussion was premiered by the Providence Singers. Winner of the 2004 International Trumpet Guild Composition Competition, The Moffett-Klein Phenomenon has been widely performed, including by students at the Cincinnati Conservatory, New England Conservatory, and professionally by former members of the Boston Symphony, Canadian Brass, and Israel Philharmonic.
Mr. Galib was the proud teacher of hundreds of fantastic piano students in the Rhode Island area for many years. He also directed choral offerings and gave recitals at the summer French School of Middlebury College for a decade.
